Outpost Director – YMCA Camp Jorn – Manitowish Waters, WI [6/21-8/21]

Creation and operation of summer canoe camping program. Design, scheduling and logistics for overnight trips ranging from one to five nights. Training and supervision of staff. Maintenance and preparation of equipment. Coordination with all other departments.  On-call as member of senior director team. This was my tenth summer at the camp where I began my career as youth development professional.

Head of Kindel House – The Leelanau School – Glen Arbor, MI [8/19-8/21]

Supervision of students in an experiential-education boarding school. School focuses on
bright students who have struggled in traditional school settings. Responsible for oversight
of 19 Jr/Sr boys during non-academic time. Coordination with parents, faculty and
counselors to provide optimal care and support. Teaching of life skills, conflict resolution
and being a good human.

Creation and oversight of leadership development program for potential summer camp
staff. Presentation of leadership training; coordination with multiple departments to ensure

Organisation, supervision and leadership of wilderness trips.  I spent nine summers at Jorn moving from Counselor to Camp Director. The greatest place on earth and a major influence in my life. In 2021 I was asked to return to revitalize the trips program and I was privileged to spend my 10th summer at his amazing place.
